Foundation year

How they work

Some universities have launched special full honours degree courses which are aimed at those students who don't meet the academic entry requirements. Students are required to attend taught on-campus lessons only two days a week. The first year is known as a 'foundation' year, this is where they teach you all the basics you need to study the course. It is usually aimed at those who are more mature and will have the life experience but didn't do that well at school and want a second chance.
